Mike Farley

has the education and real-world experience needed to be a bold voice for Ward 8 in Concord.

Education

Mike is a proud Crusader, who graduated from Memorial High School in 1977. He earned his B.A. degree in History from Saint Anselm College, and also holds a post-graduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans.

Business Experience

Mike recently retired from over twenty years as a construction executive working in the steel industry. Throughout his career, Mike has held a variety of leadership positions, from Project Estimator to Project Manager, to Director of Administration and Safety. Mike knows how to create budgets and stick to them. He has the problem-solving skills required to bring complicated projects in on time and profitably. And he’s dealt hands-on with a variety of regulatory agencies.

Legislative Experience

Mike served two terms as a State Representative for Ward 8, from 2006 to 2010. During that time, he also served on the Hillsborough County Executive Committee (2007 – 2008), which oversees the county budget on a day-to-day basis. In addition, Mike served as vice-chair of the Manchester Legislative Delegation from 2009 - 2010. Mike knows the ins and outs of the legislative process. He has worked on hundreds of bills in the committee review process. He’ll hit the ground running and get to work on solutions for Ward 8 right away.

Leadership Experience

Even when not serving in elected office, Mike works to make our community better. He served for seven years on the Manchester Heritage Commission (2010 – 2017), including four years as Chairman (2014 – 2017), helping to maintain and preserve Manchester’s historical and cultural heritage in the historic districts and throughout the city. Mike also served for seven years (2016 – 2023) as President of the local Ancient Order of Hibernians, a nonprofit charitable fraternity with over 120 active members who work behind the scenes to provide charitable assistance throughout the city to those in need.

Whether it was coaching his kids and grandkids when they were young, serving as an elected or appointed official, or volunteering to make Manchester a better place to live, work and play, Mike has spent his entire life working for a better Manchester. And now he is simply asking for a chance to keep on doing that.
